Opening files on your PC
You can open existing Present Express (.present) files saved on your PC by going to Menu > Open > Browse this PC.
Find out details about an opened file
Once you've opened a file from your PC, go to Menu > Info to see details about the file. From this tab, you can do things such as copy the file path and open the file location in File Explorer.
Open other files in the same folder
To open other files in the folder in which the current file is stored, click on a folder in the section titled 'File location' and choose a file to open from the list, if there are any compatible files available.

View the properties of the file
In the 'Properties' section, you can see the size of the file, as well as the dates that the file was created, last modified and last accessed. The duration of time that the file was opened is also displayed.
What to do if I can't open any files
If you can't open any file, please contact us and we'll be happy to help. Alternatively, if you are seeing a message box with a 'Report' button, please click on it to send us an error report.
Recent and favourite files
You can quickly access your recently-viewed and most-loved files in the app.
To open a recent or favourite file, go to Menu > Open, choose either 'Recent files' or 'Favourites' and select a file from the list. Right-clicking on a file gives you more options, such as removing it from the list, copying the file path to the clipboard and opening the file in File Explorer.

How to add favourites
You can add files as favourites by following these steps:
- Click on 'Menu' in the top-left corner of the app
- Click on 'Open' and then choose 'Favourites' from the drop-down menu
- Click on the 'Add favourites' button
- Choose one or more files using the file browser
Change how many recent files are shown
By default, up to 10 files are displayed in the 'Recent files' tab. To change this, follow these steps:
- Click on 'Menu' in the top-left corner of the app
- Click on 'Options' and then choose the 'Appearance' tab
- In the 'Recent files' section, specify the maximum number of recent files that should be shown
You can choose to display from 0 to 30 files.
Open the most recent file on startup
To open the most recent file as soon as the app starts, follow these steps:
- Click on 'Menu' in the top-left corner of the app
- Click on 'Options' and then choose the 'Startup' tab
- Then make sure the 'Open the most recent file' checkbox is ticked
If you've set the number of recent files to 0, this feature will not work.
